Animation as a design tool
Bringing trends to life. We believe in animating our visions on innovative materials, new technology, influential design processes, signs of the time and more.
The versatile home by Peter Hsieh
Stijlinstituut met up with young design talent to re-think our notion of the home. For fleeing nations, home is represented by nothing more than a smart phone and a back pack. For the modern city dweller, nomadic life saves them from the suffocating pressure of unaffordable mortgages and too much stuff.
Making fun
Fun is not just irrelevant and superficial. Humour is an important factor in our output. It can convey messages, raise awareness, trigger and tease. It attracts attention in a positive way and will make audiences remember and grasp the messages we want to convey.
Burning flowers
We like to mix the hand crafted and the industrialised, the manmade and the synthesized, the real and the virtual. These types of animations are often the start of material innovation processes.
Dynamic wall
Animations can bring across our ideas on innovation and novelty in patterning and style with so much more impact and clarity. But our imagery always comes with words, with scripts, careful explanations, contextual background and information on provenance and origin.
